Oscars: Bosnia And Herzegovina Submits Danis Tanović’s ‘My Late Summer’ for Best International Feature Film Race




Bosnia and Herzegovina has selected Danis Tanović’s My Late Summer as its entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2025 Oscars. The film, a comedy-drama, centers around a young woman named Maja who travels to a remote island to resolve a family inheritance issue, only to find herself confronting questions from her past and searching for her own identity and forgiveness.

The film had its world premiere as the opening film of the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival. The screenplay was co-written by Tanović, lead actress Anja Matković, and Nikola Kuprešanin, who also worked on Tanović’s previous film Not So Friendly Neighbourhood Affair.




My Late Summer features a talented regional cast, including Uliks Fehmiu, Goran Navojec, and Mario Knezović, among others. The movie was produced in collaboration with multiple production houses from Croatia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Slovenia, and received support from various national film centers and creative programs​(Cineuropa)​(Screen).
